Revlon Powder Blush with brush in 001 Oh Baby! Pink

Revlon finally reformulated their compact powder blush for 2014 and THIS was what it should have been from the very start. The tiny brush is the same, still with hairs that seemed too soft and too smooth to pick up any product. But with the blushes before, they were just too sheer to show up (and worst of all, patchy). I applied this for the first time by the light of a cellphone in a dark car (a mirror is still included) and when I went to a bathroom was actually pleasantly surprised to find that I had applied a bit too much!

Sadly I think my favorite blush (L'oreal souffle blush in 840 Celestial) was causing me breakouts--well honestly I'm 99% sure it was--so I was on the lookout for a powder as wonderful. Oh Baby came to my skin's rescue. Revlon's cream blush in Pinched is great to carry along when you have no time, but as this comes with a mirror, a brush that works on the move, and a high-quality formula, I think I will choose to carry this as well.

Oh Baby is like a pinker version of when you go out in the cold and come indoors with red cheeks. With your preferred brush or the one included, it blends beautifully and evenly. Right now I'm loving my face with nothing but my new skincare regimin, lots of lashes, a lip balm, and this blush. You can go from barely-there to a very vibrant dolly look. This is gentle enough to sweep onto eyes as well, which I adore with a contrasting black waterline. It's definitely a warm medium pink, that I think could be pigmented enough for up to "medium" skintones, but you may want to look into the bolder pinks of the line or Milani's baked blushes for quicker application (more pigmentation = faster for you!)

I hope Revlon makes more blushes this way. I'm definitely going to look into other shades but for now Oh Baby is a must-have for light skintones. 10/10 :)

Maybelline Color Show in Neutral Statement 021

Can a nail polish ever be HG? Well I've found mine. :) I think most girls like a light pink as their basic go-to nail color, and it's hard to find a good cheap nude. In Maybelline's new permanent shades for 2014 is a perfect combination of those things we love. In person it's very obviously nude, but painted on (and as you will see in photos) it leans pinker than the color in the bottle. After a night it dries even more nude, but still has a slight pink in it. I've always loved grays that lean a bit purple, so this reminded me of that. The Color Show line consistently has good formulas within their shades. I prefer a thin formula to thick but Color Show does well in the middle. Without a topcoat it's still shiny as ever, and lasts without chipping for days. Another great thing about the Color Show polishes is that you can peel it off as opposed to it flaking. Check out NYC's Fashion Safari for a thinner, cheaper, nude-r? lacquer. Or L.A. Girl's Simply Nude for something in the same inexpensive pinky-nude ballpark.

super blush haul! & brows & skincare

Today I spent hours in Meijer (a midwestern grocery chain) and Walgreens and I really wanted to stock up. Now would be a good time to explain my reviewing process though! I have a little notebook that is always beside me in bed, or in my bag if need be. I immediately take photos as a preview sort of thing, they're pretty important I think. When I try things out, I jot my thoughts down in a list, making sure to be thorough and descriptive, but not rambling. It may take some time for an actual review to come around, but that's just me being sure about a product! Mascaras are kind of the hardest to blog about. Number one, what a chore it would be to put one on, take it off, apply another, and repeat repeat repeat. I hate the idea of sore eyes. :s Number two, I have never seen good before and afters. I wanna be the first! Haha. I actually only started to use a lash curler a little while ago, so should I do b&a's of either or or both?! Blogger problems. >.<

3 new Maybelline prods & a Revlon blush

Maybelline Master Glaze Blush Stick in 10 Just-Pinched Pink
Revlon Powder Blush in 02 Tawny Peach
Maybelline Color Show nail color in 91 Punk Rock Pink
Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser

I went to Rite Aid the other day to see if they had anything new and to my surprise they did. I didn't have much but I was lucky everything Maybelline was 40% off plus select items were 75% off. Altogether I spent $7, was it worth it?
